Cover Face-off + (Mini) Cover Reveal: The Hunt series by Andrew Fukuda

Today in
we are featuring....
THE HUNT
BY ANDREW FUKUDA
Add to shelf: Goodreads
Purchase: Amazon | Barnes & Noble
Goodreads Summary: Don’t Sweat. Don’t Laugh. Don’t draw attention to yourself.  And most of all, whatever you do, do not fall in love with one of them. Gene is different from everyone else around him.  He can’t run with lightning speed, sunlight doesn’t hurt him and he doesn’t have an unquenchable lust for blood.  Gene is a human, and he knows the rules.  Keep the truth a secret.  It’s the only way to stay alive in a world of night—a world where humans are considered a delicacy and hunted for their blood. When he’s chosen for a once in a lifetime opportunity to hunt the last remaining humans, Gene’s carefully constructed life begins to crumble around him.  He’s thrust into the path of a girl who makes him feel things he never thought possible—and into a ruthless pack of hunters whose suspicions about his true nature are growing. Now that Gene has finally found something worth fighting for, his need to survive is stronger than ever—but is it worth the cost of his humanity?
What is cover face-off?
Basically this is where I compare covers of US vs. UK, the new vs. the old, paperback vs. hardcover and etc! We'll be keeping a tally for all of them.

I've been meaning to read this book, gotta love dystopians! I figured I'd feature this one because it also has gone through a several of cover changes.
US Covers:
Left: This is the old cover (very first) of The Hunt. I really do like the photograph and the eerie colors but I'm not a fan of the font. I'm glad they changed it.
Rating:
Right: Andrew Fukuda released the new Hardcover of The Hunt last January (See post here). I didn't really get the significance of the torn paper effect so I figured it's just nothing but looks definitely more interesting than the old one.
Rating:
vs.
UK Covers:
I thought it was funny when I read somewhere that the cover model looks like Kim Kardashian's former hubby, Kris Humphries. I couldn't help but agree! Not really a fan of portrait covers but he does look more menacing and I really like the font, it gives off the horror vibe that this book was going for.
Rating:

Mini Cover Reveal:
Heroes & Heartbreakers exclusively released the paperback cover of The Hunt and also the cover of it's sequel, The Prey coming out in 2013.
I honestly liked the old US hardcovers better. It was more interesting, the composition just looks like something I'd see in 5 other books.
Rating: ★★

Ding-ding-ding! I believe we have a tie with US and UK. A win for the Old and Hardcover covers by 1-star downfall!

Tallies: US-2 UK-1
New-0 Old-1
Hardcover-1 Paperback-0
